LAM seminar series: Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2023

The 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó of Hungary and Drew Weissman of the United States for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. On December 15, 2023, we welcomed at the Science Park Dr. Peter Celec, the Director of the Institute of Molecular Biomedicine, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University, who gave an engaging lecture on the Nobel Prize and talked about the science behind this groundbreaking discovery.
